DANG Huali, violinist and teacher of the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), first violin PhD graduate of CCOM, whose performance the violin virtuoso Sheng Zhongguo once described as ‘enjoyable and a great combination of musical philosophy and personal emotion, which is incredible’. The Ansaldo Poggi violin she has been using is offered on long-term loan by the Yu Art Foundation since 2018.
Dang Huali is the only violinist who has gained both of China’s top musical awards - ‘Golden Bell Award’ and ‘Wenhua Award’: she has won 1st prize of the 11th ‘Wenhua Art Academy Award’ China Youth National Violin Competition in 2015 and 1st prize of the 12th China Music Golden Bell Competition in 2019. Besides, she has also obtained 1st prize of the 1st HKIVS Shlomo Mintz International Violin Competition in 2017, 1st prize of the 4th ‘Euro-Asia’ Tokyo International Violin Competition in 2015, 1st prize of the 3rd HK International Violin Competition in 2013, etc.
As a soloist, she has successfully cooperated with conductor Yu Feng, Lü Jia, Zhang Guoyong, Yu Hai, Hu Yongyan, Chen Lin, Lin Daye, etc., and with Salsburg Chamber Orchestra, CCOM Symphony Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, Mingjia Chamber Orchestra, etc.
She began the violin study at age six and was enrolled in the middle school attached to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music at age ten. There she studied with Prof. Xu Yue and Prof. Xu Guangrong. At age 15 she entered CCOM and studied with Prof. Tong Weidong. After completing master’s study in CCOM, she ranked 1st in the audition of CCOM’s doctoral programme in 2018. During 2012-2013, she served as concertmaster of China Youth Symphony Orchestra.
