CHEN Yi, hailed by Maxim Vengerov as a talented violin performer, has been granted short-term loan of ‘General Dupont’ Stradivari from the Yu Art Foundation ('YAF') during her solo performances, as well as long-term loan of YAF's Rogeri violin.
Chen Yi is the gold medalist of the 2008 China International Violin Competition held in Qing Dao. Prior to this career-setting achievement, she had been the student of legendary Chinese professor, Lin Yaoji at the famed Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
Ms. Chen was invited to perform the Carl Nielsen violin concerto as China’s premiere young artist at the Danish Day Gala-Concert held at the 2010 China Expo in Shanghai. The concert was attended by the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. Her international performances and recording activity have made Chen Yi a most sought-after young virtuoso violinist. Her recital and concerto repertoire is extensive having performed in the US, Italy, Finland, Japan, Monaco and China. She is a master who performs with technical wizardry, enchanting musical lines and a compelling stage presence.
